The importance of a good cover is often overlooked or considered as an afterthought when the rest of the content has been decided. A cover can engage the students, making the planner approachable and attractive, encouraging them to be proud of their planner. The planner will be seen in the wider community and can reflect the values of the school. Corporate brand If you have a school prospectus or information book, then you could base the planner covers on a similar design, colour scheme or layout.
Logos and crests Incorporate your school logo or crest onto the cover for a clear, strong effect.
Achievement logos If your school has achived standards, you could include these.
Photographs Photographs can be an effective way of creating an engaging cover design.
Artwork Why not let the students design their own covers? You could select artwork yourself, or run a competition for the students to design their own.
Colours Your cover could be designed to reflect your school colours, or a different colour scheme could be used for each edition.
Personalisation Space can be left on the front cover for the stundent's name and any other relevant information.
Lamination Covers are printed onto 300gsm card and are gloss or matt laminated, unless you request otherwise. Whiteboard covers will be gloss laminated as this allows them to be written on with a dry wipe marker pen. Matt lamination is used if you require students to permanently write onto the cover in biro or similar pen. This may be space for personalisation or their timetable, for example.
